Mac-Hi smashes 35 hits in wins over Baker

BAKER — No. 5-ranked McLoughlin High School swept away a softball doubleheader in Baker against the Bulldogs, 19-7 and 14-8, on the strength of 35 total hits here Saturday.

Mac-Hi batter Nicole Henley had a three-run homer in game two and seven RBIs in the twin bill. Megan Reed had four RBIs and six total hits.

Colette Robert was the winning pitcher in two complete-game performances. She struck out 13 total batters.

“It was a great performance by the girls,” Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said. “We haven’t swept in Baker in five years.”

The Pioneers are now 13-4 overall and 4-0 in the Greater Oregon League and visit Ontario Friday for a doubleheader.
