Hunters don’t need assault weapons

What is the NRA afraid of?

My grandfather taught me years ago how to shoot with a .22 single shot rifle. Then he gave me a single shot .12-gauge shotgun, which I killed birds with. He told me that is all I would ever need.

Years later I bought a Remington rifle that held five shells. I killed deer with that, seldom using more than one shot.

Why do we need assault weapons?

Jim, why do you need a .22 rifle, a shotgun and a deer rifle? You can buy birds and meat at the grocery store and set traps or poison for your varmints, assuming you have any.

I need a new car....

So do I:

A) Get a small really cheap small car? It will get me where I need to go...

OR

B) Do I get a really nice sports luxery car... It too will get me to where I want to go, but, It will fufill my want/need for comfort and satisfaction. It is a hobby to drive a responsive nice car...

My point is, Some people have hobbys different than yours and that you have no right to tell anyone what type of hobby any one has...
And at the risk of sounding like a broken record....More people are killed each day with cars than guns!
Do we outlaw cars?

Jim: Well, you’re sure as heck a better shot that I! What’s your definition of an assault weapon? The only differences between what the Left likes to label assault weapons and other semi-automatic rifles are purely cosmetic. Just because they are made to resemble military weapons, which are fully automatic, does not make them any more dangerous than any other rifle except, perhaps, your single shot .22.

Jim - do you use hollow points in your .22 or do you use shorts? (sarcasm) If you don't like to own an arsenal (which it sounds like you already do) why do you try to control other peoples lives. Why don't you stick to yours - I'll stick to mine and then we'll both be happy!

Rifles don't hold shells. Assault weapons are strictly regulated to include spot checks from BATFE and a $200.00 tax for each weapon.

Hey Jim...Very Few people own actual Assault Weapons but in your comparing a single shot to a semi-automatic here's a comparison that you can no doubt relate to....A person can get from Point A to B in a Piper Cub or Cessna so why are they flying a Lear?

Really no such thing as an "assault" rife. That's the word used to scare people.

Semi-automatic rifles fire bullets as fast as you can pull the trigger. Automatic rifles keep firing when holding down the trigger. Those are illegal.

That .22 mentioned is probably a semi-automatic.....as most are. Heaven forbid we label that gun an "assault" weapon.
