Walla Walla Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 26 Auxiliary members enjoy getting together and what better reason than to host a dinner for International Grand Madam President Katie Ziebol of Ogden, Utah?
Open to the community, the meet-and-greet social hour will from 4-5 p.m. Aug. 24, followed by the at 5 p.m. meal, featuring Katie’s favorite homemade soup, salad bar and dessert.
Visiting Washington state is one of her first tours as president, said local auxiliary member Kathie Wade in a release.
Katie was elected in late July at the Eagles grand convention. She will talk about her FOE Diabetes Research Center charity and special Christmas Box House International project. Her theme for the year is “Laugh and smile in Eagle style.”
Christmas Box International partners with groups such as FOE to prevent child abuse and improve the quality of life for children who have been abused or neglected.
It is a one-stop assessment center for abused and neglected children from birth through age 18.
Children in CBI’s care receive mental, emotional and physical care in a home-like, loving environment.
Cut out Green Hands will be sold at the aerie for $1 or more on which to put donor’s names and place on the aerie’s dance-floor mirror. “When completed, the hands will look like a Christmas Tree,” Kathie noted.
Aerie members are also collecting new puzzles and books appropriate for children from ages 2-18, which will be donated to the Walla Walla Children’s Museum.
“This is a great opportunity for Eagles members to bring that friend or for anyone who wants to see what the Eagles is all about and we get to meet a grand auxiliary madam president!”
