Walla Walla has much to be thankful for at this time of year. Even though the Thanksgiving holiday is behind us, it is my privilege to commend all those who gave of their time and talents to produce the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
Approximately 900 meals were served Nov. 26 at DeSales Catholic High School. Planning for this feast begins months before the occasion. This involves everything from ordering turkeys and all the trimmings, planning for decorations, and organizing to making sure all is in place.
This year the blessings just kept coming. Many local churches, schools and businesses contributed abundantly. A number of men and women delivered a meal to those who could not come out because of illness or special need.
I want to praise the willing and eager folks who took the opportunity to help plan, serve and enjoy fellowship with friends and neighbors at the 2013 Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
