Probe continues into possible gunfight
WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged gun battle at 390 N. Tausick Way, reported by a 19-year-old man early Wednesday morning.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, Kevin Brown told police he heard someone attempting to break down his front door. Brown told police he armed himself with a 12-gauge shotgun, and left the home through an alternate door.
The suspected burglar ran toward the Eastgate Seventh-day Adventist Church, shouted an expletive at Brown and fired a gun in his direction, according to Brown. who told police he returned fire.
Officers found two spent shotgun rounds, but did not find any shell casings or damage to buildings from rounds fired from another weapon. According to the Sheriff’s Officer report, officers did not find footprints or vehicle tracks in the frosted church parking lot.
