Dusty’s Ski and Snowboard Shop has absorbed the neighboring space, formerly home to a cleaning service.
The Isaacs Avenue shop has doubled its retail square footage by expanding into the old American Services location, owners Dusty and Betty Maland said.
The space was needed to accommodate ski and clothing inventory as the store has become Walla Walla’s only ski and snowboard shop.
“We knew we needed more space to handle the retail and rental operations during the winter,” Dusty Maland said in a prepared statement. “Especially now during the holidays with families coming in with six, eight or more people, you just need space.”
The expansion has provided more space for trying on ski and snowboard boots out of the rental area.
Opened in 1993, Dusty’s is located at 1509 E. Isaacs Ave. It is currently the sole location for the business, which over the years has had stores in Kennewick, Seattle and Dayton, too.
Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Those are also the hours Sundays during the winter season only. Earlier appointments can be made for rentals by calling 522-1443.
