The age-old roadhouse at the state line is still up and running.
Despite an active rumor mill and scuttle about closure of The Oasis, owner David Beale said Thursday the business is still very much open and there are no current plans to close.
“I’m aware of the rumors,” Beale acknowledged. “The Oasis is definitely open.”
Beale declined to delve into further details about what led to the rumor. “It’s not that we weren’t struggling or are struggling because of things that have happened. But we’re certainly open and have quite a bit of support.”
New hours for the restaurant, the decades-old steakhouse at 85698 Highway 339, were posted Thursday on the business’s Facebook page.
In addition to the schedule change, word has also circulated that former owner Pat Koch is returning to help out.
New hours are: Wednesday and Thursday, 2-9 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-close; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-close. The business is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
