Down Under meets Main Street in a special event this month.
Independent travel agent Donna Beauchesne is partnering with Sapolil Cellars on an Australian excursion to be detailed and previewed with a special movie night Jan. 24.
Guests are invited to Sapolil, 15 E. Main St., to learn more about the 14-night air-and-land-inclusive trip. The presentation is at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. will be the showing of “Crocodile Dundee.” As part of the night’s theme, Aussie beer and food will be available for purchase.
Beauchesne, who specializes in trips to Australia and the South Pacific, will be joined by Margot Windenburg from Down Under Answers to present details about the August trip, which will be escorted by Sapolil winemaker Abigail Schwerin.
The tour is limited to 18 guests, will feature wine tasting at small boutique wineries and will include visits to the classic sights of Sydney, Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne and Adelaide, Beauchesne explained. A dinner in the Art Gallery of South Australia, which features one of the largest collections of Aboriginal art will top off the trip. To RSVP to the movie night preview, call Beauchesne at 525-1230.
