HELIX — Helix fell to Echo, 38-28, here Saturday evening in Big Sky League girls basketball.

“We’re playing with four freshman on the court most of the time,” Helix assistant coach Kirk Slerchinger said. “But we played good defense against Echo, normally a high scoring team. The girls did the best that they’ve done all year. That’s the best that you can hope for.”

Macenzie Mize led Helix with 19 rebounds and added seven points.

Paden Slerchinger canned two 3-pointers for Helix in scoring eight points.

Helix plays again at Nixyaawii Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Mission, Ore.
