Walla Walla law firm gains Spokane partner

A Spokane-based law firm has expanded into Walla Walla to meet the growing demand of legal business from the area.

Paine Hamblen LLP has opened a regional office here, the firm announced. The office operates in coordination with Virtual In-House Counsel, PLLC, at 2225 Isaacs Ave. The two firms have entered into a mutually cooperative relationship.

The relationship allows attorneys and clients with both firms access to the legal resources and expertise of the more than 50 attorneys and paralegals employed by Paine Hamblen while also providing that firm with the experience and knowledge of Virtual In-House Counsel.

According to the announcement from Paine Hamblen managing partner Jane Brown, the expansion was prompted by growth in business from increasing numbers of wine producers and winery related services, as well as other tourism-related businesses.

The Spokane firm was founded in 1893 and offers legal services to individuals and corporations in a swath of areas, from traditional insurance, banking and real estate to emerging fields such as technology licensing and management, and securing domestic and foreign patent, trademark and copyright protection for domestic and international clients. Other offices are in the Tri-Cities and in Coeur d’Alene and Priest River, Idaho.

Virtual In-House Counsel was founded in 2001 by attorney and Walla Walla native Kristian Hedine. The firm primarily serves small- to medium-sized business clients and organizations. Areas of practice include business organization, landlord/tenant, civil litigation, nonprofit and charities, employment and labor, regulatory, estate planning and real estate and development.
