MILTON-FREEWATER — The turnover bug struck Mac-Hi here in Greater Oregon League girls basketball action Saturday.

Ontario took advantage to take an insurmountable 34-3 lead to the locker room at intermission. The Tigers went on to post a 64-16 win.

“We couldn’t get anything started in the first half,” Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said. “We had some open looks but couldn’t get them to fall. We had a really bad first half.”

The Pioneers hung in and scored 13 in the second half.

“We finished on a stronger note,” Christian said. “We stuck to our offense and I’m proud of them for not giving up.”
