Now is good time to approve Wa-Hi bond

Walla Walla Community College Vice President Jim Peterson and I have had the opportunity to participate in facility evaluation and planning efforts at the Walla Walla Public Schools. Jim has served on the Community Facility Task Force for 10 years.

We endorse the School Board’s plans to renovate Walla Walla High School. We view this as a smart investment in the future of our community.

Passing the bond at this time will enable the district to lock in a very low interest rate, significantly reducing the total cost of the project. It will provide employment for workers as our economy slowly improves. It will take advantage of a favorable bidding climate.

Most of all, it will improve the learning environment for our community’s high school students.

Please join us in voting “yes” on the Wa-Hi bond.

With all due respect. Mr. VanAusdle & Mr. Peterson did not take a pay cut like all the classified staff did at WWCC as well as all the other state and county employees on pay cuts the last 1-2 years living in this city/county struggling to make ends meet.
