Junior Club of Walla Walla is gearing up for a major contribution to education and career training for local women.
The organization dedicated to serving the needs of local women, as well as nonprofits, will offer three $2,000 scholarships for the first time in years, President Colby Burke announced.
The scholarships will be awarded to female residents in the Walla Walla area for at least two years who are 24 and older. One scholarship will be given to a student enrolled in a local nursing program; the other two are for those pursuing any college-level field of study.
The funds are for tuition only and will be paid directly to the recipients’ educational institution.
In the past, the club has offered two scholarships of varying amounts.
To request an application, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications must be completed and postmarked no later than March 30. Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before April 30.
