DAYTON — The Dayton Bulldogs boys basketball team fell to Walla Walla Valley Academy here Tuesday night, 60-41, on their senior night in Southeast 2B boys basketball action.

Dayton shot just 15-of-53 from the field.

“We just didn’t shoot the ball well enough to win,” Dayton coach Roy Ramirez said. “That kind of percentage from the field and you’re probably going to come up with a loss. We had the shots we needed, we just couldn’t get them to fall.”

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs started all of its seniors and honored them in the game.

“We had tonight to thank the seniors for all of their hard work and dedication,” Ramirez said. “The seniors are Dakota Hayes, Grant Heinrich, Wyatt Frame, Isaiah lambert and Johnny Sanchez.”

WWVA’s Jordan Shuette scored a team-high 19 points and Matthew Cosaert scored 13.

“Jordan Shuette played really well,” WWVA coach Scott Wagner said. “He had 19 points and 14 rebounds. I was also really proud of Matt Hanson on defense. Matt Cosaert really stepped it up tonight. It was one of his best games of the year.”

WWVA hosts Weston-McEwen Friday at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs play at Tri Cities Prep Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
