Tribal youths will get a lesson in small-business ownership and money management in a three-day entrepreneurship program next week.
Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts will put on the silk-screen project in conjunction with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation starting Monday.
Through the program, Wildhorse Resort & Casino’s Business Development Services Department hopes to boost the number of tribal youth exposed to business, according to the announcement.
The program runs through next Wednesday and then will culminate Friday with a Youth Marketplace, where participants will sell the originally designed silk-screened T-shirts they make.
Throughout the program, participating youth will get an introduction to art from the creative process to packaging and marketing materials they have created. The final marketplace event will be in the rotunda at the Nixyaawii Governance Center, 9:30-11 a.m.
