Yvonne Marie Warner, age 71, died peacefully at home on July 9, 2013, following a brief struggle with ALS.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1941, in Walla Walla to Douglas J. and Virginia M. Gascon White. Yvonne grew up in Walla Walla and attended St. Patrick`s Catholic School. On Oct. 16, 1968, she married Charlie O. Warner Sr. Her life was spent raising their five children, doting on her 13 grandchildren and living her faith. Occasionally, she would take a job to help support the family. The job she enjoyed the most was working with the special needs students as a bus aide for Walla Walla Public Schools.
Yvonne was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie; sons, Charlie Warner Jr., Jim (Linda) Warner; daughters, Ginger (Bill) Heiser, Lucy (Jerry) Poirier, Stephanie Warner, all of Walla Walla; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Coralee Baucher of Burbank and Donna Heiser of Walla Walla; brothers, Bob White of Kennewick and David White of Pendleton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Byers; brothers, Ron, Dick and Doug White.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013, from 1 p.m. until after the Rosary at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla. The Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father David Kuttner, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
