WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Bruins open the 2013 Central Washington AA League Championships Friday with a game against the Wenatchee Apple Valley Packers at 5 p.m.

The Bruins finished the regular season as the South Division champions with a regular season record of 30-6. As the 2013 state tournament hosts, the Bruins are garanteed a berth in the state tournament, regardless of their perfomance at districts.

Three teams aside from Walla Walla will advance to the state tournament, a 16-team, double-elimination affair set to take place at Murr Sports Park, Borleske Stadium, and Walla Walla Community College’s field from July 27-Aug. 1.
