Walla Walla’s tennis camp getaway is being touted as an ace by Harper’s Bazaar.
The magazine included the Tennis and Wine Camp offered through Whitman College in its piece “Summer Camp Chic: 6 Grown-Up Getaways.”
The feature by Sarah Lindig highlights summer indulgences for adults.
“Following the example of popular rehab spas and vacation-worthy clinics, the latest trend in grown-up getaways offers adults the chance to escape and unwind in style—this time, with a distinctly nostalgic twist,” the piece opens. “From outdoor adventures to team sports and creative crafts, new luxury retreats invite overworked urbanites to indulge their inner adolescent with activities reminiscent of childhood summer camp. Whether it’s a week of water sports and wellness in Costa Rica or mandated detox from all your tech devices, we’ve found an option for every type of working girl.”
The Walla Walla tennis camp, offered incrementally throughout the summer for as many as 24 people at a time, blends tennis training in the morning by top-level college coaches, including Whitman’s Jeff Northam and John Hein and Boise State’s Greg Patton, followed by food and wine events in the evenings. At full price, the camp is $945. Discounts are available for those who register in advance.
Other “camps” highlighted by Harper’s at harpersbazaar.com include a cowgirl yoga ranch camp and a digital detox camp.
