Mary Ann Christensen Wood was born on June 4, 1968, in American Falls, Idaho, to Robert and Renee Christensen. She lived in Burley, Idaho, before moving to Walla Walla in 1973. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1986 and from Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho, in 1988. She later furthered her education in medical transcription.
She put her husband through school as a transcriptionist and did medical transcription up to the day of her death. She married Jeffrey Wood in the Seattle LDS Temple on Aug. 4, 1989. Mary Ann and Jeff are the parents of five children, Sterling (20), Micah (18), Braidon (15), Seth (13) and Camille (9).
Jeff and Mary Ann lived in Provo, Utah, while Jeff went to school at BYU. After graduation they moved to Jerome, Idaho, where they lived for five years. In 1998 they moved to Pendleton. Mary Ann’s greatest love was to be a mother. She always wanted to be there to serve them. With five children there was always something to attend. Concerts, programs, award recognitions, school plays, sports and occasional music recitals.
Mary Ann has always been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She has served in many positions including in the presidencies of the Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and as a teacher in those organizations as well. She loved her current calling in teaching Sunday School to the youth. She was a faithful and devoted Relief Society visiting teacher.
Mary Ann exemplified womanhood through her angelic kindness, strength and Christian devotion to family and friends. We love her dearly.
Mary Ann is survived by her parents; five brothers; two sisters, their spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the LDS church in Pendleton, 601 N.W. 12th St., Pendleton.
