Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, today recalled certain lots of five-ounce cans of tuna products because the cans may have loose seals.
The issue can result in spoilage and lead to illness if eaten, although the company has received no reports of illness to date.
The tuna fish was distributed for sale nationwide between Jan. 17 and Feb. 28. The recall includes 48-can cases of some Brunswick brand tuna. All recalled lots have 2016 expiration dates.
The company’s priority is to get the cans out of distributions as soon as possible, a spokesman said.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled tuna should throw it away. For any questions about reimbursement call 800-800-8572.
