A glut of volunteers is needed to help set up for the 2013 Feast Walla Walla.
Organizers of the sixth annual food festival are seeking volunteers to help decorate the tent for the dinner that kicks off the weekend event April 12. The decorating begins at 11 a.m. and involves climbing on ladders to string lights and lifting and moving assorted tables and chairs, according to an announcement from the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation.
The organization is also seeking help with security during the main event April 13. Volunteers would be needed for 90-minute shifts between 12:30 and 4:15 p.m. Cleanup crew members are also needed that evening.
Volunteers will receive an event T-shirt, commemorative wine glass and tasting plate. The $50 cost is waived. However, those who want to nosh need to purchase their own tokens at $2 apiece. The tokens are traded for samples of food and wine from the 50 vendors slated to participate. For more details call 529-8755 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
