POMEROY — Pomeroy High School struggled against Grangeville (Idaho) here Saturday, losing 11-1 and 9-3, in a non-league baseball doubleheader.

Grangeville’s Alex Koberstein struck out 12, pitched a no-hitter and walked only two in game one.

Grangeville led game two 4-3 going into the seventh inning and it exploded for five runs to seal the victory.

“I was happy to play well against Grangeville in game two,” Pomeroy coach Dave Boyer said. “They are a much bigger town than us and high school. They also have a great baseball tradition.”

The Pirates (1-3) play again Saturday in a league doubleheader at home against Liberty Christian.
