Touchet pummels Pats in baseball playoff preview

TOUCHET — The Touchet High School baseball team pummeled Liberty Christian, 10-0, here Tuesday in a preview of the district playoff game next Tuesday.

Touchet (10-8, 4-4 Southeast 1B) held Liberty Christian to two hits and knocked 10 hits while committing only one error in the field.

Elias Martinez led the Indians with three hits. Colter McKeown and Connor McKeown each added two hits.

Colter McKeown and Corey Ochoa combined for the two-hit shutout on the mound.

“You can go on thinking this game doesn’t matter for much,” Touchet coach Tim McKeown said. “Because the game that really matters is the loser-out Tuesday and then we will both have our best pitchers going. But I think this game helps our confidence and that should play a big part in the playoff game.”

The Indians will play Friday in the alumni game at 1 p.m.

Touchet heads to Richland to meet Liberty Christian once again in the playoff game at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
