UMATILLA COUNTY — A 70-year-old woman suffered minor injuries in a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday morning that killed roughly 10 cattle near Tollgate on Highway 204.
According to Oregon State Police, a semitrailer driven by a 57-year-old Idaho man became stuck in the roadway due to snow and ice, causing a chain reaction involving two more trucks and two passenger vehicles.
One truck towing a cattle trailer tipped over and at least 10 cattle died from injuries, according to the OSP.
Diane Weatherspoon, 70, who was driving a Dodge van that was struck by the cattle truck, was taken to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton for minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours following the collision. Officers reported everyone involved in the collision was using seat belts, and no other injuries were reported.
