The Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market will take root this weekend at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds.
Opening day for the relocated market will be Saturday, according to an online announcement.
Lest there be any confusion from Wednesday’s announcement about the Downtown Farmers Market, this is a separate operation offering produce, pastries and handmade wares.
The Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market — the original organization created to celebrate the goods and services of farmers and artisans — has relocated, while a separate group of vendors has re-created the downtown market under a different name.
The market at the fairgrounds will run 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays through the end of October. It will be suspended the weekends of the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede and Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days. Should inclement weather prevail throughout the season, the market will be set up in the educational/science building.
