Port of Walla Walla commissioners are Paul Schneidmiller, Mike Fredrickson and Ron Dunning. With all present Thursday, the commission:

UPDATES: Received updates from staff on the Railex Road extension to Raindance Road, Waitsburg Business Park infrastructure improvements and potential application for submitting a grant application to the federal Department of Transportation.

SALES TAX: Discussed possible payback of a wine incubator sales tax deferrment. When the incubators were built the state forgave sales tax on construction costs. But with one incubator building vacant, the Port may have to pay back about $28,000. Four of the five buildings are occupied. Another is expected to open soon, and the Port has one potential applicant to move in.

LOAN REPAYMENT: Discussed terms for a loan repayment scheduled between the Port and Walla Walla Regional Airport for purchase of the Mannina Cellars building.

CORRESPONDENCE: Reviewed leases entered into by administrative staff, a calendar of events and miscellaneous project updates.

Port of Columbia

Port commissioners are Gene Warren, Dale McKinley and Earle Marvin. With all present Wednesday, the board:

LEASE: Voted to extend lease for a Port tenant until Oct. 3.

POLICY: Adopted a maternity/paternity leave policy.

FUNDS: Accepted $25,000 matching funds from Pacific Power to fund sewer construction at Blue Mountain Station.

VEHICLE: Voted to sell the Port’s surplus four-wheeler.
