ROSALIA — Touchet’s volleyball team handed Rosalia a four-set Class 1B District 9 loser-out defeat here Monday evening to advance in the tournament.
The Indians won the match 25-22, 13-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Touchet now plays Colton at Clarkston High at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. An Indians victory would pit them against Pomeroy at 6 p.m. Saturday in the same gym, a loss puts them into a 2 p.m. match against an opponent to be determined earlier Saturday.
Jennifer Aceves was 16-for-16 serving with three aces and 11 digs for the Indians.
CierraJo McKeown smacked 17 kills, Harlie Schaeffer dished out 16 assists and Abby Grudzinski had two stuff blocks.
For Rosalia, Gensen Merritt had 14 digs, Mackenzie Reddish nine kills, Stacey Carrothers eight assists and Rayna Charles three blocks.
“When facing adversity, it’ll make one stronger or weaker,” Touchet coach April Miller said. “We have gotten stronger.
“I’m proud of the girls’ success tonight,” she said. “They played hard and fought through some low spots until we came together as a team like we knew we could.”
