WALLA WALLA — Local author Shanna Hatfield has released a new holiday romance novel, “The Christmas Cowboy,” with plans of donating 10 percent of the proceeds to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.
Hatfield will be at Book & Game Co. Inc., 38 E. Main St., 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. She will include sales from that day in the December donation.
“The Christmas Cowboy” is a contemporary Western romance set in the Tri-Cities area. The story is about Tate Morgan, a saddle bronc rider working toward earning a World Champion title, and Kenzie Beckett, a corporate trainer for a direct sales company. Both frequent travelers, they meet by chance at the airport.
The Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund dedicates 100 percent of all contributions received for disbursement to eligible injured rodeo athletes with catastrophic injuries.
Hatfield began writing Western romances in 2010. The Women of Tenacity series debuted in 2011, followed by the Grass Valley Cowboys series. She is working on an historical series called Pendleton Petticoats. The Christmas Cowboy is her 20th book.
