TACOMA — Puget Sound’s Carson Swope’s penalty kick in overtime here Saturday sent Whitman down to its first Northwest Conference men’s soccer loss of the season, 1-0.
The loss drops the Missionaries to 3-1-1 in the NWC and 3-5-2 overall. The Loggers remain unbeaten in the NWC with a perfect 5-0 mark.
Whitman outshot the Loggers 13-8, but neither team found the back of the net until Swope’s PK in overtime. Stuart Ellsworth, in goal for the Missionaries, had two saves to get the match to overtime.
Whitman visits Pacific Lutheran this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
