Safety precautions, particularly for children, have increased over the past 50 years. That’s generally good.
However, some people carry it to extremes. When overzealous safety efforts occur folks often quip that perhaps children should be covered in Bubble Wrap.
Well, the actual safety efforts at a middle school in New York are even more absurd than the Bubble Wrap proposed by the sarcastic.
Officials at the Long Island middle school have banned “rough” games and impromptu playground gymnastics at recess, according to CBS News. This ban includes footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls or anything that might hurt someone on school grounds. In addition, students can no longer play tag (as in “you’re it”) or do cartwheels.
Wow! Bubble Wrap is sounding reasonable.
