PASCO — An early Pasco goal proved to be enough here Saturday at Edgar Brown Stadium in Mid-Columbia Conference girls soccer action. The Bulldogs rode that one goal to a 1-0 win over Walla Walla High School.
“The girls played really well today,” Blue Devil coach Kevin Peck said. “They adjusted to a different surface (turf) well. They stepped up to the physical challenge and battled for every ball.”
Pasco’s Abby Buckenburger got one into the back of the net 15 minutes into the match and the Blue Devils could not get the lid off at the other end.
“We missed a penalty in the 65th minute to tie the match,” Peck added. “As frustrating as it is to miss an opportunity to tie, the positive that we take away is that we are starting to generate scoring chances. That is a sign that we are moving forward and getting better.”
The Blue Devils return to Pasco Tuesday for a 7 p.m. clash with Chiawana.
