Pomeroy suffers first league loss

OAKESDALE, Wash. — Tekoa-Oakesdale won a Southeast 1B League counter with Pomeroy, 22-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 15-13, here on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Monahan led the Pirates (3-1 in SE1B play, 15-6 overall) with 20 kills, with Savannah Ruark recording 13 kills and five blocks.

Ireland Mayfield dished out 37 assists, Kacey Halbert came up with 17 digs and three aces, McKenzie Uto was 21-for-21 serving with two aces, and Ally Bott had 10 kills.

“It was a very exciting match,” Pomeroy coach Bruce Crossfield said. “We’re continuing to improve.”

The Pirates host Lacrosse-Washtucna on Thursday.
