When is a shutdown not a shutdown?

Some random thoughts on the recent federal government shutdown.

The shutdown doesn’t mean shutdown, it means partial shutdown. After all, we need park rangers on the job to ensure those nasty, old World War II vets don’t try and visit the WWII Memorial.

And we need the Postal Service to deliver our bills and junk mail.

And we need Congress on duty to eventually refund the government. And the Obamacare workers are there to register you for all its benefits, if you can get online to do so.

And we need the president and the vice president around to bad mouth the Republicans.

And we need the Republicans around to bad mouth the Democrats.

And we need ... just what do we need?

The federal government workers that have been furloughed will still receive their pay. Basically, they just got a vacation for doing nothing. How would you like that type of job?

The threat to the international community that we will default on our bills is, of course, just that — a threat. Does anyone who lives on this planet really think the politicians would let the U.S. default? I mean, really? Remember, they only exist to get re-elected.

The American electorate is up in arms that its duly elected representatives let this all happen. According to all the news sources only 5 percent of the American people think Congress is doing a good job. Five percent! Remember that number!

We are going to show those guys. Just wait until November 2014 and we only send 95 percent back to Congress.

Boy, then they will get the message.

Yeah, right.

Obviously Mr. Conetto doesn't understand how Government works. Just from the idiotic Ted Cruz's idea our economy lost 24 billion dollars. Just in 2 weeks! Read the Wall Street Journal, hardly a liberal newspaper! Can you imagine the lost a Government shut down for a year could've cost our economy?

The GOP's popularity is at it's lowest ever, thanks to the wacko Tea Party members of Congress. In turn they got NOTHING from their unreasoble demands. We, the American people, lost in this stupid game.

Shame on Ted Cruz and on his neo- dixicrats, confederate-flag-lover followers!

We just can't wait for the next election, my friend! The American electorate is up in arms that its duly elected representatives let all this crap happen. According to all the news sources only 27 percent of the American people think the Republican party is doing a good job. 27 percent! The lowest ever! Remember that number!

Well, they just GOT the message.

Yeah, right!

A good letter Al but I'm waiting for the Community Organizer to nominate some qualified people to head these departments instead of picking them from his unqualified donor list.
