WALLA WALLA — Wa-Hi dropped a 7-0 decision to Kamiakin in Mid-Columbia Conference girls soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Lexi McQueary (sixth minute, 27th minute) and Parker Lee (32nd minute, 55th minute) scored two goals apiece to lead the Braves.
Kamiakin, which recorded 18 shots on goal compared with three for the Blue Devils, also got goals from Breanna Turley, Heather Donais, and Taylor Fabbri.
“I was really proud of the character shown by our girls,” Wa-Hi coach Keven Peck said. “Despite being down by goals, they continued to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get back in the fight. That type of character and work ethic will benefit them long after this season is over.”
Seven seniors played their last home match in Blue Devil uniforms on Saturday — Maddy Aichele, Mari Arceo, Amanda Meliah, Hannah Moeller, Marissa Placensia, Alyssa Rodriguez-James and Ruby Salgado.
“Each of these girls has done an amazing job modeling leadership behavior for the senior classes that will follow,” Peck said. “We can’t thank them enough for their contribution.”
