Beverly Jean Berggren

December 27, 1932 – September 5, 2013

College Place – Beverly Jean Berggren, 80, passed away September 5, 2013, at Regency at The Park, 420 SE Myra Road, College Place, Washington.

Beverly was born December 27, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, to William and Kay Bahrs. In 1973, she and Nelson R. Berggren married in Whittier, California.

She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper in pathology laboratories, retiring October, 1978.

In 1992, she moved to this area from Cove, Arkansas.

In her younger years, Beverly was very strong-willed

and independent. Beverly loved life. She

believed in working hard as well as playing hard.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed all that the

outdoors had to offer. She loved spending time

with her family through many different facets

including weekend camping trips and waterskiing.

She was also known for her fearlessness behind

the wheel of any motorized vehicle, ranging from

motorcycles to dune buggies. Even after suffering

a significant health setback in her late 40s, she

continued to have tenacity for life and fought until

the end to enjoy life to the fullest.

She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Fred)

Moore; her son, Brian (Gina) Detwiler; three

grandchildren: Jennifer (Zaal) Paymaster,

Courtney (Jill) Moore and Michael Moore; four

great-grandchildren: Alyssa and Hunter Mohl

and Payton and Paige Moore. She was preceded in

death by her parents; a brother and her first and

second husbands.

At her request there will be no service.

Inurnment will be private. Arrangements have

been entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial
