WALLA WALLA — After dropping the first set, 25-18, DeSales’ volleyball team rallied to grab its first Southeast 2B League victory against Asotin Thursday.
The Irish faced a similar predicament in the second set, as they faced an 18-7 deficit. But, the team ripped off a rally and took the set, 28-26.
It was smooth sailing from there, as DeSales won the third set, 25-9, and the fourth set, 25-19.
“I was incredibly proud of the way the girls fought back and stayed positive in a tough situation,” DeSales head coach Hailee Rogers said. “We learned a lot about what we can do, and it’s only going to get better from here.”
The tandem of Alyssa James, Claire Conley and Hannah Leahy chipped in nine kills apiece and went a combined 43-of-46 serving. Leahy also added 13 digs.
DeSales’ Teresa Acock finished with a team-high 26 digs. Allesyn Lyons dished out 12 assists, to go with her nine digs and 13-of-13 serving.
DeSales faces Walla Walla Valley Academy Tuesday.
