An Oktoberfest party at Mill Creek Brew Pub this weekend is the perfect time to taste what brewer Troy Robinson has been up to.
Robinson said he’s got two new brews on tap for autumn. Oktoberfest is a malty, rich ale brewed with malted barley imported from Germany. The Bavarian-style beer tips a hat to harvest and will only be available for another month. Local favorite the Penitentiary Porter, a tribute to one of Walla Walla’s oldest landmark institutions, is also back on tap. The traditional English dark ale gets its color from a special roasted barley called chocolate malt.
Sunday’s Oktoberfest Party will run 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at the brew pub, 11 S. Palouse St. Local band Roads Less Travelled will perform, 3-6 p.m. while operators sling Sweet Onion sausage and bratwursts for $4.99. Robinson said the brew pub’s six big-screen televisions will also feature Seahawk and Cougar games throughout the season. For more details, call 522-2440.
