With Homecoming around the corner and the Purple Parasol having closed, a local designer is stepping up to furnish men’s formalwear.
Designer Laurie Haluska is teaming up with a tuxedo supply company to offer rentals for local residents.
Haluska, the owner of home-based business Haluska Design Studio, will set up fittings in the studio space above the downtown Walla Walla Starbucks, formerly home to the Beehive Cut and Color Bar.
She’ll have samples of about 10 styles of pants and coats, off which she’ll place orders for rentals, she said.
The service will be available next Tuesday, noon-8 p.m.
Those who drop in Tuesday will receive a 20 percent discount.
The order will be placed with plans for the tuxedo arrivals before the Walla Walla High School Homecoming dance.
Orders will also be taken Wednesday, but those after 3:30 p.m. that day will require a rush processing fee.
Rentals will be available by appointment only Thursday and Friday.
Haluska has been designing bridal gowns, casual wear and costumes — including for film and stage – for 25 years.
