PASCO — The Waitsburg-Prescott High School softball team smacked 25 hits and scored 12 runs, but they dropped a doubleheader, 16-5 and 15-7, to Tri-Cities Prep on Saturday.

W-P sophomore pitcher Jaidyn Brown walked four and struck out six combined over the two games.

Tri-Cities Prep’s Kelci Young had four of the Jaguars’ 42 hits, including the only home run in the doubleheader.

“Tri-Cities Prep is definitely better than in the past,” W-P coach Angie Potts said. “They hit the ball really well. We expected them to be good, but not that good. You can’t take away from what they did offensively.”

W-P (4-8 overall, 0-4 in Southeast 2B) had three players — Loegan Harshman, Heidi Miller and Caitlin Mohney — with four hits apiece in the two games combined.
