WSU presidents gets five-year contract extension

PULLMAN (AP) — The Board of Regents of Washington State University has given a five-year contract extension to school President Elson S. Floyd.

Floyd has requested that his compensation, $625,000, remain unchanged at this time.

The regents voted Monday to extend his contract from 2016 to 2021.

Board Chair Connie Niva says the extension was a result of Floyd’s exemplary service to WSU and the state.

Floyd became the 10th president of the four-campus Washington State University in 2007, has grown enrollment to record levels and made many other improvements. Before coming to WSU, he was president of the four-campus University of Missouri for four years and president of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo for more than four years.
