Michael “Mike” Donovan Ward

July 13, 1936 - November 11, 2012

Michael “Mike” Donovan Ward, youngest son of Leander Berry Ward and
Bessie (King) Ward was born in Rupert, Idaho July 13, 1936. He attended Rupert
elementary school, junior high and graduated from Rupert High School in 1954.

Mike married Lorene Price, March 14, 1962 in Rupert,
ID, and came to Walla Walla in 1982 from Vancouver, WA.
They celebrated their Golden Anniversary of 50 years in
March this year. They enjoyed a fulfilled life, traveling a lot
and in their travels they were able to be in ALL fifty states.
They enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, and camping. They
took long trips in the motor home. Family was important to
him and the camping and fishing trips are great memories
for the family. Mike liked playing both standard and bass
guitar. He spent many hours playing with his wife at home
and also in the church bands. He was a wonderful husband,
father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved God
and attended Walla Walla First Assembly of God Church for
thirty years. He is now a member in God’s Kingdom. Mike
was an electrician and began working for Continental Can
Company in 1966, which later sold to Crown Cork & Seal;
he worked there for thirty two years, retiring in 1999.

He leaves behind his wife, Lorene, of Walla Walla; one
daughter and son in law, Laura Ann Robert Lundstrom of
Paola, Kansas; two sons, Duane and daughter-in-law Diane
Crownover, of Weston, Oregon, Dennis Ward of Walla
Walla; two sisters, Ruth and husband Warren McCall of
Pasco, Washington, Grace Reynolds of Folsom, California;
numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces
and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one
brother, Charles Ward, and two sisters, Evelyn Maxey and
Dorothy Leger.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence St.
Mary Cancer Center or Alzheimer’s Association through
Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road,
Walla Walla, WA 99362. Cremation will be at Mountain View Crematory.
