August 13, 1920 - October 1, 2012
Wilma Edington, 92, left this earth to be with her Creator on
October 1, 2012. She was born on August 13,
1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Robert Floyd and Rosetta
Valentine Hammer Blades. She moved west with her family
to settle in Milton-Freewater, Oregon in 1935.
In 1946, Wilma wed her first husband, Delbert
Kelty. Together, they had two children, Steve and Darleen.
After Dub’s death in 1974, she remarried Joseph Edington
in 1976 who also preceded her in death.
Wilma led a full and active life. She enjoyed a variety
of things like participating in the Elks Lodge, Walla Walla
Country Club, and Rebekah Lodge. She loved to garden
as well as play golf and bridge. Wilma was a stay-at-home
mom and was the bookkeeper at Kelty Auto Parts. She
continued to do the books there until 2005, when she was
forced to retire due to her declining health.
Wilma had two brothers, Merrill and Robert, along with
one sister, Yvette. They all preceded her in death. She is
survived by her two children: Steve and DeAnn Kelty, and
Darleen and David Snook; grandchildren include Kristen
and Dustin Treanor, Kim and Scott Moore, Kasey Kelty,
Brian Korfhage, Mark and Angie Sluder, John Buttice,
Scott Buttice, and James Buttice, along with many great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 5,
2012, at the New Beginnings Chapel, 822 W. Main Street,
Walla Walla. The graveside service and burial will follow
at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. 2nd Avenue, Walla
Walla. Pastor Tim Bruner will officiate. Arrangements have
been entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551
Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
