Great point Nat! Thank you for bringing this to our attention! Perhaps phone calls need to be made to the port commissioners although it sounds as if the deal is already sealed!

I don't have an issue with 'scaling down' the event and the grounds at WWCC are a beautiful place to gather and launch balloons; however, the prevailing winds will no longer carry the balloons over neighborhoods like it formerly did. I can remember once a balloonist was low enough I could talk to him from my backyard ~ those days are gone!

When the wine industry was in it's infant stages in our valley, Walt recognized the need for the wheat and grape industries to communicate about spraying crops and he facilitated that conversation.

Like in all other phases of life, ***the bad make it 'bad' for the good***! It's pathetic that our elected officials need 'policies' in place to do what is right or what is expected without the need for a policy! Management positions carry the burden of 'getting the job done' no matter how many hours it takes ~ that comes with the territory. It is understood in the private sector and it should be understood in the public sector as well. When you apply for the job, you know that up front!

My point exactly so why waste the money on UB advertisements?

We all appreciate the street repairs and being made aware of updated information; however, spot ads in the UB don't say anything for the most part; i.e., no relative info, etc. just hello progress goodbye potholes! i think for the most part, the signage around town and the website is more than adequate information without spending money on ads!
